Jerusalem is the largest city in Israel and one of the ancient cities of the world, existing for more than 3000 years. Surrounded by picturesque Judean Mountains, Jerusalem is located 750 meters above the sea level, in the center of Israel, on the water borders of the Mediterranean Sea and the Dead Sea. The heart of Jerusalem is the Old City surrounded by the pinion wall. This is the historical district of the city, housing practically all historical monuments and destinations, including the main Christian sanctuary — Church of the Holy Sepulchre, as well as sacred places of three world religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The main Judaic sanctuary is Western Wall. It is the last preserved wall of the ancient temple. Islamic holy spots are placed all over the Old City, but the most respected of them are located on the Temple Mount. Once amazed with the poetry of this scenery, King David proclaimed Jerusalem the capital of his Kingdom, and from then on Jerusalem is the focal tourist point of a journey to Israel.
