Hokkaido is Japan’s second largest island with a population of 5.6 million people. The largest city on Hokkaido is its capital, Sapporo. Hokkaido’s northern coast is washed by the cold Sea of Okhotsk and faces the pacific coast of Eastern Siberia. However, the definition “north” has rather relative meaning here. The city of Wakkanai which lies on the northernmost edge of the island is located in the more southern latitude than Paris and Rome. The annual temperature here is 8C. It is a real natural paradise with mountains and hills, rivers and lakes, sea and azure skyline.

Hokkaido is one of the most popular Japanese tourist destinations with its hot springs, national parks and ski resorts. The island is home to the Lake Toya, a resort filled with mineral springs where travelers can forget about daily routine and relax. The shape of the lake approaches regular circle. The center of the lake features four isles covered with thick forests. Hokkaido is the place of primeval nature offering its guests a wide array of activities: dolphin and whale watching, rafting, horse riding, wood trekking, balloon flights... yet this is not the full list of possible entertainment.
