Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia located on the south-western part of the Malacca Peninsula with the population 1.8 million people. The city is built in various architectural styles. The Independence Square houses Kuala Lumpur Malaysia Theatre and Sultan Abdul Samad Building, with National Textiles Museum and Jamek Masjid close to it. To the south of the Square the Old Railway Station faces Malay Railways Headquarters KTM Berhad. All these buildings were constructed in the end of 19 — beginning of 20 centuries. Victorian-style architecture features former palace Carcosa Seri Negara, National History Museum and Kuala Lumpur Library, surrounded by Neo-Moorish buildings.
