Infrastructure

Thuraya Wellness, Yoga and Movement

Named after a star constellation widely used by bedouins to navigate, Thuraya Wellness is where we come to restore and relax. Thuraya Wellness offers a peaceful lounge space with an alchemy bar, spa treatment rooms, a fitness center, an outdoor wellness agora, and a yoga studio. Our yoga and meditation practices help you cultivate the ancient discipline to recharge yourself by improving the clarity of thought and the awakening of your physical body, where the soul achieves a greater sense of balance.

Adventure Experiences

  • Adventure Trail. The Adventure Trail is an 8 km long historical treasure site with clusters of pictographs that are two-thousand years old. Experience a variety of terrains including volcanic rocks and soft sand.
  • Stargazing. Experience the entire universe with this unique dinner under the clear skies of AlUla. We’ll drive to the remote Gharameel area which offers some of the best views of the night sky.
  • Camel Riding and Sanam Camp. Spend two hours riding a camel, immersing ourselves in traditional Bedouin culture with folkloric dances, local cuisine, a falcon show and more.
  • Buggies UTV Guided Tour. Start your adventure on this unforgettable adrenaline ride through AlUla’s amazing sandstone mountains. Experienced guides will drive you into narrow canyons, over high sand dunes and across challenging terrain. The trail will start off the beaten bath and take you along different loops of a highly eroded sand mountain.

Art & Culture

  • Hegra. Visit Hegra to experience Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here you’ll explore over 110 remarkably well preserved tombs set in a desert landscape, while learning about the ancient people and culture of AlUla.
  • Old Town. Get a glimpse into AlUla’s not-so-distant past on the AlUla Old Town Tour. A Rawi (guide) will lead you through AlUla Old Town, where pilgrims, travelers and permanent settlers congregated through the ages.
  • Desert X Art Installations. Our home features interactive art installations originally commissioned for Desert X AlUla from artists including Lita Albuquerque, Superflex, Manal Aldowayan and more. Ignite your inner child upon discovering these works.
  • Najma. Elyseria by Lita Albuquerque is a 25th century female astronaut — a fictional character, imagined by Lita Albuquerque — with a mission to teach about the stars and their related fields of astronomy and navigation.
  • One Two Three, Swing! Comprised of several sets of three-seated swings conjoined by a zig-zagging orange support, One Two Three Swing! invites its users to activate the socially transformative potential of collective movement, challenging society’s apathy towards the political, environmental and economic crises of our age.
  • Now You See Me, Now You Don’t. Examining their disappearance, AlDowayan establishes these ‘puddles’ as a symbol and indicator of the impending water crisis.
  • On Parade. Here, in a fantastical procession, nature’s creatures are on parade, coming together to show off the forms and shapes of their diversity. Inspired by the flora and fauna of the Arabian desert, their linearity echoes time and the movement of the caravan people. They have come to a standstill for us, making themselves momentarily visible as they enter the fields of our perception. Falling Stones Garden
  • Falling Stones Garden is a site-specific installation composed of 320 sculptures that vary in size and hue, inspired by the natural rockfall at the base of the sandstone cliffs surrounding the exhibition dvalley in AlUla. Falling Stones Garden is a reflection of Ibrahim’s conceptual art practice and his distinctive land art works, inspired by a lifelong relationship with the environment of Khorfakkan (United Arab Emirates), his place of birth.

Concert Series

In AlUla, we gather to marvel at the melodies from the oud and move to the rhythms of the riqq while taking in the immense and rare beauty of the never-ending desert and sweeping valley. Using delicate and powerful soundscapes, our Concert Series experiment with rhythms and beats that evoke profound sensations and emotions, taking us on an inner journey from start to finish.

Weather

  • The weather at our Home in AlUla varies throughout the year, with temperatures vastly ranging depending on the season.
  • Summer. From mid-June to mid-September, the summer brings extremely dry heat to the region, with temperatures often reaching above 40°C during the day.
  • Fall. From mid-September to mid-December, the arrival of autumn offers gentler weather and cool breezes. Daytime temperatures remain warm in the mid-30s while evenings are mostly mild.
  • Winter. From mid-December to mid-March, winter brings warm temperatures during the day, usually in the mid to high twenties. Nights are cool and can drop to the low teens at times. This season is ideal for visitors who prefer milder temperatures for outdoor activities.

Dining

Tama

Tama, meaning ‘here and now’ in Aramaic, is where we come together and experience an immersive culinary journey through time. Our dishes infuse Global & Middle Eastern cuisine, using local, fresh ingredients and spices once traded along the incense route, bringing Saudi Arabia’s unique flavors to life.
