Infrastructure

A SPA Inspired By Niseko

In the language of Niseko’s indigenous Ainu, “chasi” translates to “sanctuary.” Drawing from the true meaning of the word, Spa Chasi La Sothys, located in Higashiyama Niseko Village, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, offers hotel guests a retreat high in the mountains and surrounded by forests, home of the Ainu’s mythological divine spirit.

Like the changing landscape, which transforms from shimmering silver in winter to emerald green in spring, the spa takes cues from Hokkaido’s natural surroundings, incorporating land-sourced ingredients into treatments that blend Japanese tradition with French techniques, plus boast luxurious features like private onsens. The 24-hour fitness center offers a view of the surrounding natural beauty in addition to the latest Technogym cardio machines, free weights and equipment including wellness balls and yoga mats.

Winter Experiences

Known for the quality and quantity of its snow, the Niseko United ski area has long been a destination for devout skiers. The mountains offer an average annual snowfall of 60 feet, making them ideal for skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and more. With the expertise of the resort’s Higashiyama Reservists, one can explore the slopes with the knowledge of a local and the excitement of a newcomer.

Summer Experiences

Summer springs new life in Niseko Village as the mountain landscape blooms with emerald forests and curious wildlife. Through a curated collection of expert-led activities, including hiking, cycling and horseback riding, guests can experience a thrilling adventure or a tranquil journey amid nature.

Golf at Higashiyama Niseko Village

As the chill of winter is replaced by the energizing arrival of summer, Niseko transforms into a haven for golfers from around the world. Moments from the resort, two 18-hole golf courses challenge players visiting Hokkaido to remain focused amid breathtaking natural beauty.

A Bountiful Land

For thousands of years, Niseko has been a place of beauty and bounty. Living off of the land, the indigenous Ainu-Kaributo and early settlers fished the Shiribetsu River and harvested potatoes, corn, soba and beans. The surrounding mountains were sanctuaries for thriving flora and fauna. Today, the community’s connection to the land continues, making Niseko a destination for those seeking flavorful culinary experiences and untouched nature.
