Recreation
The Kahala Spa is an unforgettable experience. Treatment rooms enjoy 50 sqm of space and feature a personal relaxation area, changing area, private shower, and landscaped courtyard of native Hawaiian flora. Fabrics are rich in earthy shades of olive, mustard and walnut, accented by Asian artwork and handmade Hawaiian quilts. The tropical ambience of Hawaii is captured throughout with plantation shutter doors, warm wood flooring, and island-style ceiling fans.
The Kahala Hotel & Resort has a full range of leisure facilities. There are plenty of less strenuous activities too, including the chance to swim with dolphins. For those that love the water, swimming pool and secluded beach are well appointed with everything for a day on the water.
For kids, there’s a whole range of fun and educational things to do at the ever popular Keiki Club. Many of the guests find that a visit to Oahu leaves them curious about Hawaii’s ancient culture. So the hotel provides complimentary classes in the lobby providing the chance to find out more.
As well as on-site shopping arcade, the hotel is just a few minutes from some of the finest malls in Hawaii. The shuttle provides transportation to Waikiki, Ala Moana Shopping Center and Kahala Mall.

Hoku’s at The Kahala Hotel & Resort is heralded for its innovative fusion fare which melds Hawaiian, Asian and European flavors. Hoku’s is consistently ranked as one of Hawaii′s best restaurants. With a twist on contemporary Island cuisine Hoku’s returns to the basics and revamps the classics. The menu has been expanded to include an exotic variety of new dishes, such as Pan Seared Halibut (avocado crust, kamuela tomato and Maui onion salad, pomegranate reduction), Maine Lobster Tempura (sauteed vegetables, chili mint sauce) and Salt-Crusted Colorado Rack of Lamb Carved Table-Side (baby zucchini, sunburst squash, and rosemary jus). Hoku’s has a breathtaking beachside setting with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean from every table in the multi-level dining room.
On the edge of the white sands of Kahala, the oceanside Plumeria Beach House is an open-air, all day dining restaurant. The restaurant is bathed in warm, natural earth tones reminiscent of a comfortable island home, with indoor and outdoor terraces taking full advantage of breezy trade winds. It’s an ideal choice for casual dining, quiet meetings and cocktails at sunset, like the famous Mai Tai and Mango Madness or the popular Lava Flow. The expanded a la carte menu features signature items such as The Kahala Burger using certified Angus ground beef with a fried egg, white cheddar cheese, and guacamole.
The romantic ambience of old Hawaii can be experienced at Veranda, a perfect meeting place for afternoon tea or cocktails with live jazz entertainment in the evening. Designed in classic plantation style, The Veranda takes patrons back to another time when life was more leisurely and meeting with friends for tea and conversation was a daily affair. The comfortable lounge overlooks the Dolphin Lagoon with a choice of both indoor and al fresco seating. Afternoon Tea is a tradition, after a day out discovering Oahu.
With a direct view of the Pacific Ocean, Seaside Grill is perfect for lunch after a relaxing morning at the pool, a swim with the Dolphins, beach activities or a shopping excursion to Waikiki.
