London
No single image can adequately portray London. A complex, sophisticated, cosmopolitan city, it molds itself around the desires of the visitor. History, luxury, culture, indulgence, modernity; every craving can and will be satisfied. London will not let you be lonely; you’ll never feel a stranger. Warm and welcoming, it’s impossible to feel out of place, the countless nationalities that thrive together creating a spectrum into which you are guaranteed to feel at home.
Exploring the fabric of this city is always a treat, meandering streets with their origins two thousand years ago, providing visual drama as they unfold at your feet. Every brick, every pavement, every doorway, imbued with stories, grand and humble alike. Always inviting you to celebrate tradition, London encourages you to create it too, and become part of its story.
Dining
The Lobby
Occupying a refined, airy ground-floor space, The Lobby features triple-height, intricately moulded ceilings, hand-blown crystal chandeliers, and hand-painted de Gournay landscape murals that bring the greenery of the hotel’s courtyard and surrounding Royal Parks inside. The restaurant serves all-day globally influenced fare and signature Peninsula Afternoon Tea with live music.
Canton Blue
Celebrating the convergence of Asian and British cultures, Canton Blue offers innovative Cantonese cuisine in a collection of exquisitely decorated spaces. The restaurant’s main dining room is inspired by a maritime passage from East to West. Numerous design elements take inspiration from the Keying junk, a trade ship that connected the two countries during the mid-19th century — including displays of Cantonese porcelain, and a magnificent backlit ceiling panel depicting a celestial navigation map.
The low-lit tables and intimate private booths centre around a carved, dual-aspect fireplace, shared with an adjacent tea lounge. Two private dining rooms — The Silk Room and The Music Room — each celebrate a distinctive facet of Chinese culture. Throughout Canton Blue, the service, like the décor and cuisine, is refined and striking, with many dishes finished tableside.
Little Blue
Continuing the exotic sensory journey of Canton Blue, Little Blue offers sophisticated cocktails, fine spirits, and artisanal teas in a glamourous, intimate setting. The bar’s décor reflects a harmonious blend of British and Chinese history, with classic leather seats, etched glass, and a wall of apothecary-style spice cabinets that nod to the spice trade routes of the Keying junk.
The drink offerings also embrace the confluence of the two cultures: many cocktails incorporate Asian fruits, spices, and herbal tinctures as well as premier spirits; and an extensive menu of teas that can be taken in both the English and Chinese traditions. Please note that Little Blue operates a no reservations policy.
Brooklands
Soaring heights are achieved at Brooklands — a spectacular rooftop restaurant that is both a destination and a journey. The space, which pays homage to the classic eras of British aviation and motorsport, sets the scene for the modern British cuisine of Chef Director Claude Bosi.
Brooklands shares its namesake with the storied Surrey racetrack — the birthplace of British racing sport and flight innovation. The restaurant, as well as its dedicated lift and entryway, are appointed with a specially curated collection of artefacts honouring Brooklands’ history. Amongst the most remarkable of these is a vintage Napier Railton, the 1933 race car that set — and still holds — Brooklands’ speed record; and an arresting scale-model of the iconic Concorde aircraft, suspended from the ceiling of the main dining room. These are also reflected in the restaurant’s two private dining rooms — ‘Napier Railton’ and ‘Mach II’. A wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, and a terrace with stunning views of London’s skyline only further enhance the sense of being airborne.
Brooklands offers a menu crafted from the very best of British ingredients using traditional French techniques to deliver dishes that perfectly balance modernity and classic fine dining. Together, Chef Director Claude Bosi and Chef de Cuisine Francesco Dibenedetto bring a wealth of culinary expertise to establish Brooklands as a highly desirable and respected drinking and dining destination.
Brooklands Bar
A sleek space showcasing innovative cocktails, as well as striking views across London’s skyline, Brooklands Bar makes an unforgettable day-to-night rooftop destination. An array of classic cocktails can be savoured here, along with more conceptual cocktails specially developed in Director of Mixology, Florian Thireau’s ‘Drinks Studio’.
The bar’s design further embraces the restaurant’s themes of classic British aviation, motorsport, and fine craftsmanship. Its intricate latticed ceiling echoes that of a twin-engine bomber designed in the 1930s; its striking glass chandelier, meanwhile, replicates the blades of a Rolls Royce turbine jet engine.
The Tasting Room
Occupying an exclusive area of the rooftop, The Tasting Room cigar lounge offers an elegant and relaxed space for the enjoyment of finely curated cigars. The walk-in humidor, along with a collection of rare top-shelf whiskies, is overseen by Master of Havana Cigars Manu Harit. Patrons can also rent private climate-controlled lockers for storing their cigar purchases.
Like the adjacent Brooklands restaurant and bar — with which it shares a dedicated elevator — The Tasting Room takes design inspiration from the world of fine motorcars. Its mahogany-panelled sitting room incorporates design elements of The Delage 155B, a luxury French race car that won the first Grand Prix at Brooklands in 1926. The lounge and attached terrace also afford truly breath-taking panoramic views over Hyde Park and the surrounding cityscape.
The Peninsula Boutique & Café
With its enticing street-level window displays and shopfront entrance, The Peninsula Boutique & Café welcomes both hotel guests and discerning Belgravia shoppers. Guests can browse among a delightful collection of signature Peninsula products, including artisanal chocolates and fine gifts for any special occasion. The café also offers a menu of casual, delicious all-day fare which can be enjoyed in the shop or at home.
